This department has the responsibility of coordinating the educational ministry of the church and planning child evangelism activities in collaboration with the Mission and Evangelism Department

Specific Duties

1. Bible Study
- Maintain an interest in the corporate Bible Study programme of the church
- Seek to promote members’ support for this programme
- Advise the pastor on themes and subjects which members express a need to be informed about.
 
2. Family Bible Hour
- To administer the affairs of the Family Bible Hour.
   This includes:    
i) Recruiting students and staff
ii) Planning for the effective management and growth of the school
iii) Organizing training and fellowship opportunities for staff and students.
iv) Promoting and coordinating the conduct of the Sunday school examinations offered by the Jamaica Baptist Union.
v) Preparing the school for anniversary and other celebrations.
 
3. Junior Church
- Organize and supervise a Sunday morning worship programme for the youngest children of the church.
- Recruit and train workers for this ministry.
- Establish a nursery.
 
4. Vacation Bible School
Organize and coordinate an annual Vacation Bible School Programme.
 
5. Church Library
- Supervise the operation of the Church Library. This includes:
i) Developing and implementing plans to make the facility responsive to expressed needs.
ii) Securing and cataloging books and magazines etc.
iii) Determining the opening hours of the library and supervising the   circulation of books
iv) Staging exhibitions on special occasions
v) Motivating members to make use of the services offered.
 
6. Literature Distribution
- Promote the use and coordinate the distribution of all publications of the church, the Jamaica Baptist Reporter, Devotional Literature and other publications approved by the church from time to time.
- Coordinate the Training Programme in the Church in consultation with the Pastor
